Job Description: 

  • Local agency is looking to bring on a full-time cook in Nampa. This individual will help prepare meals for 150 people daily.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work beside Kitchen Manager and Senior Cook to run operations of the kitchen
  • Prepares meals, cut food, prepare meats, side dishes, etc. within guidelines of the menu
  • Prepare dietary requirements, and the standards of taste, temperature, & appearance
  • Serve food to individuals during meal times, give out utensils, plates, and cups are stocked for mealtimes
  • Serve as a mentor to individuals, aged 16-24 years of age, who may be working in the kitchen
  • Wash dishes after meals and clean up kitchen and dining areas
  • Sweep, mop, clean windows, and scrub walls
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Knowledge of methods and materials used to prepare food
  • Knowledge of care of cooking utensils and equipment
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety practices used for food handling
  • Experience in preforming large-scale quantity cooking
  • Experience following recipes and menus
  • Experience calculating volume measurements used for cooking
  • Must have or be able to obtain a ServSafe certificate within 90 days of hire
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screen

Schedule:

  • Start date of 6/21/2021, with training Monday-Friday 7am-3pm
  • After training, work schedule will be Wednesday-Sunday
    • Wed, Thurs, Fri 7am-2pm and Sat-Sun 8am-6pm
  • $15/hr
