State of Idaho – Dietary Aide $16.00 p/h

  • On-the-job training
  • Great temp-to-hire opportunity with a state agency
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • $16.00 p/h to start
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint background check
  • The schedule requires shift work, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Duties:

  • Washing dishes
  • Setting up and taking down dining areas
  • Assisting with kitchen maintenance and general cleaning
  • Preparing meals, snacks, and beverages following specific procedures
  • Serving meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene procedures are followed at all times
  • Taking inventory of kitchen supplies and food items
  • Staying current on the individual procedures and protocols for facilities, including state-specified rules and regulations
  • Assist in food preparation for individuals in the Department of Veterans Services
  • Work closely with the Dietitians and Chefs to ensure patients and residents receive healthy meals

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. to the waist level
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint background check
  • Attentive to detail
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment

Preferred Knowledge/Experience: * NOT REQUIRED

  • Experience cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas
  • General knowledge of food handling sanitation and safety practices
  • General experience with operating and cleaning commercial-grade dishwashers, food slicers, processors, choppers, blenders, and mixers
