Capital Maintenance Techs

Personnel Plus is NOW HIRING for Capital Maintenance Technicians in Nampa, ID

Duties:

Install, repair, and maintain domestic water and irrigation service lines.
Perform emergency repairs and water shut-offs to minimize service disruptions.
Install and maintain fire hydrants, valves, water meters, and distribution piping.
Operate heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, skid steers, vacuum excavators, and other construction equipment.
Set up safe work zones, traffic control, and maintain public safety around construction sites.
Restore work sites by performing basic landscaping and sprinkler repairs.
Maintain tools, equipment, and City vehicles.
Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency water system repairs.
Read blueprints, site plans, and utility maps to complete installations.
Communicate professionally with coworkers, contractors, and the public.
Attend required safety meetings and training to maintain certifications.
Any other duties as assigned

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance, construction, utility, or trade experience preferred.
Valid Idaho Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Tanker/Combination and Air Brake endorsements preferred but not required.
Ability to obtain Flagging Certification within one year of hire.
Ability to obtain a Water Distribution I License within two years of hire.
Experience operating heavy equipment is preferred.
Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
Ability to read blueprints and construction plans.
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn GPS/GIS mapping systems.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Must be dependable and able to work independently.
Work is performed primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasionally lift and move materials exceeding 50 pounds with assistance or equipment.
Ability to safely work around traffic, trenches, heavy machinery, and construction zones.
