CNC Lathe Programmer/Machinist – Boise

Candidates with extensive experience are preferred, but the company may train an exceptionally motivated, precision-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude. Pay and schedule: $20–$30/hour, depending on experience. Day shift, Monday–Friday.
What you’ll do:
- Set up, program, and operate 2500SY CNC lathes with sub-spindle, Y-axis, and live tooling
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using GibbsCAM
- Operate multiple machines while maintaining production quality and efficiency
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and sketches
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision instruments
- Ensure completed parts meet blueprint specifications and quality standards
- Meet production schedules and efficiency goals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members
- Follow company policies, safety procedures, and attendance expectations
- Assist with other machining and manufacturing duties as assigned
What you’ll need:
- Five or more years of CNC programming experience is preferred
- Job-shop manufacturing experience
- Experience setting up and operating 2500SY CNC machines is preferred
- Multi-axis CNC programming experience is preferred
- GibbsCAM experience is preferred
- PC-DMIS experience is a plus
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing methods, fixturing, and machining techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Ability to inspect precision parts using measuring instruments and gauges
- Basic math skills and strong mechanical aptitude
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities
- Ability to adapt to changing production demands
