Library Guest Services Specialist I, Part-time $16.61 p/h- Eagle, ID

 

  • Part-time, evening & weekend hours
  • $16.61 p/h
  • Excellent Opportunity to work in a City Library

Duties:

  • Create a positive guest experience
  • Utilize library computer systems to assist guests with checking in/out materials, resolve account issues, maintain reports of lost/stolen items, manage payments, etc.
  • Help visitors at guest service stations
  • Assist guests with library-related technologies such as computers, readers advisory, and other library resources
  • Assist with the development and execution of classes and events
  • Maintain community bulletin boards
  • Utilize social media to promote library
  • Develop a basic knowledge of adult and children’s literature

Requirements:

  • Able to work mainly evening and weekend hours
  • Be at least 16 years old
  • 6-months prior experience working with the public (preferred)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work independently in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Able to learn and complete shelving tasks
  • Willingness to improve and update library science and technology skills
  • Able to bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shift
  • Able to travel if needed for conferences, outreach opportunities, meetings, workshops, classes, and event supplies
